Cheslea Sue Allen and her sister/collaborator Shay Aubrey Allen came to the WXPN Studios earlier this week to record their Key Session. Through some serendipitous actions, I was there as a fan to check out the session, Breanna Keohane had an extra camera ready for video, and the Allen sisters were prepared with a cover of their favorite local band Dr. Dog. Could we do a Cover Club video to supplement the WXPN Key Session? Absolutely!

I first discovered Chelsea Sue Allen at the 3rd annual Philly Sings Philly. Chelsea and Shay played together turning over a room full of new fans with three quick Philly covers, doing Kurt Vile, Dr. Dog, & Psalmships (Thanks Lisa Schaffer for keeping the list). At the time, Chelsea had two teases to new materials with her Kettle Pot Tracks : On The Hill Session and the Reunion EP after the 2011 Electro-folk Tiny Prizes.
The new material finally arrived in late 2015 in the form of the dreamy Lonely Ages and it couldn’t have been any more worth the wait.
